Pretend We're Married

"What are you doing?"

"The same as you."

"Gosh! You won't half cop it from Mum. She hasn't put one down at that end."

An American salesman was riding in the lower berth of a Pullman sleeping car. The woman in the upper berth leant over.

"I'm cold. Do you think you could get me another blanket?"

"Tell you what. Why don't we pretend we're married?"

"Well, all right."

"Okay. We're married. Get your own goddam blanket!"
