No Growth

Making calls for the first time in a small town, a rep was making conversation with a storekeeper.

"What would the population of Millmerran be?"

"1,222."

"Is it growing very fast?"

"It isn't growing at all."

"But it must be, What was the population ten years ago?"

"1,222."

"That's the same as now. How come there isn't any growth?"

"Well, it's this way. Every time a girl in the town has a baby, some young fellow has to leave the district."
