Trying To Impress

The boss was interviewing a young lady for the post of private secretary. In an effort to impress him with her intelligence and expertise, she said, 'Among other things, sir, I'm very good at doing difficult crossword puzzles — in fact, I've won many prizes.'

'That's very interesting,' said the boss, 'but I'm looking for someone who can be smart during office hours.'

'Oh,' said the young lady, 'this was during office hours!"
