Sadly, the personnel manager had died, and an ambitious junior clerk went into the manager's office and said, 'Excuse me, sir, I was very sorry to hear that Mr Jones has died - but I wonder if I could possibly take his place?'

'It's all right with me,' said the boss. 'If you can arrange it with the undertaker.'
